Sheet Metal Roofing - Simple Facts

In a common way of thinking, metal roofs are considered to be traditional. But along with the times, they are again getting used often due to their distinct features. They are arguably durable, lighter compared to other roofing types, lesser maintenance, and energy efficient and fire retardant.

Metal roofing can be seen on numerous homes. Due to its versatility, it can be installed anywhere and will require lesser time and effort, withstanding the worst weather conditions and would be easy to replace.

The aluminum and steel type of this metal roofing are currently the most widely used. Both can offer great lengths of durability and being lightweight as a bonus. Aluminum and steel are usually have a tile appearance. Even without support from rafters, they can be installed easily. However, the most expensive type can be of copper material as they can provide the best appearance of the three.

Aluminum types can mimic tiles, slate and cedar shakes. They don't rust. As a good benefit of using them, they actually lessen the sound of rain, to this fact remains the best turnaround choice for most metal roofing adopters.

For aluminum, they weigh about half a pound per square foot and 1.5 pounds for steel. This is the advantage of metal roofing as they can be installed over multiple sheets of shingles. With this kind of material, it would be optional to add roof rafters to get an added load.

Aside from the fact that it is easy to install, sheet metal roofing can be of shingles. It makes installation better and would cost lower. The quickness of installation can be advantageous when the weather can be unpredictable to lessen the time to where rain can be disastrous to an open-roofed house.

Furthermore, they are also a good fire retardant. Metal roofing is a noncombustible material and can resist fire up to class A. Class A can be the ones that insurance companies give discounts due to the less probability of catching fire and having more time to extinguish them before things gets worse.

Some of the newer types of roofing have insulation foam on the bottom of the sheets to reduce radiant heat. The metal roofing pitch can be relatively low; usually it ranges from 3 to 12 inches. You can check the metal roofing's data sheet to make sure they can be installed on your home.

How To Load a Backpack

By correctly loading your backpack you will find that you expend less energy whilst carrying it compared to one which is unbalanced. Plus you will know that it is also much more comfortable to carry also.

There are a number of different ways in which a person can load their backpack and below we provide some guidelines which will help to ensure that you pack yours correctly. By doing this not only will it be more comfortable when being carried but the likely of any injury occurring during the time it is being carried is greatly decreased.

Step One
You should assemble everything that you will be putting into your backpack including food, water, clothing and any other equipment that you require.

Step Two
Place all of the heavy items as close to your back as possible and do not stuff them into the bottom. Also any light items or clothes that you have should be placed towards the outsides of pack.

Step Three
All items like your tent or sleeping bag should be strapped to the outside. Today there are backpacks such as the Osprey Atmos 65 which now come with additional bungee loops and a place at the base of the pack where the sleeping bag can be packed away into. Also having these loops allows you to attach bungee straps to them which then means that the tent can be securely fastened to the pack and this will help to ensure that all weight you are carrying is evenly distributed between the shoulder straps and the hip belt.

Step Four
Always ensure that you have a garbage bag within your pack especially if you know the weather is going to be inclement whilst away on your trip. Use this as a liner within your pack and place all items such as your clothes that you want to ensure are kept dry at all times.

Step Five
Use one outside pocket of your pack that you can easily reach where you want to put your snacks, water and trash. Today many backpacks now come with additional pockets on the hip belt where items such as snacks etc. can be placed. Also a lot of backpacks now allow the user to have a water (fluid) reservoir which they can place within it and which then provides them with a continuous supply of water and leaves their hands free.

Step Six
Place all essential items such as maps, books, flashlight, sun cream and also batteries in the pocket that allows you to gain easy access to them without actually having to stop. Again such backpacks as the Osprey Atmos 65 now provide the wearer with additional pockets on the hip belt where these particular items can be kept and which they can easily get to at any time during the trip.

By keeping these steps in mind when it comes to loading up your backpack will ensure that everything evenly distributed and so much more comfortable to carry. Plus the chances of any injuries being caused through the backpack being loaded incorrectly and placing pressure on certain parts of the body will be greatly reduced.

The Most Effective Fat Burning And Muscle Building Workout That Takes Just 13 Minutes

Most people who want to burn off some excess pounds and tighten and tone their bodies simply dont have 2 hours each day to spend in the gym performing the bodybuilding style workouts that most fitness experts recommend.

Plus, these workouts consist of exercises and techniques that do not exercise the body in the way it is normally used so they end up building a somewhat unusable strength. In my opinion, most people, unless their main objective is body building, shouldnt perform the traditional style workouts

While I do still believe that machine and free weight strength training is the best choice for body building, it is NOT the best choice when it comes to general fitness goals like strength, flexibility, endurance, etc.

I dont know about you, but I can barely fit in 15 minutes for exercise let alone 2 hours and I personally am not interested in muscle size alone (which doesnt mean strength and usually leaves you stiff and inflexible)! Im sure your schedule is probably the same. The good news though is you dont have to you can burn fat, increase flexibility, build unbelievable strength and endurance, reshape your body, and build a level of fitness that is truly functional.

I want to share with you a workout that I do personally that delivers a great combination of strength, flexibility, cardio and muscular endurance, and fat burning.

WARNING: The following workout will not only surprise you, but it will likely go against everything you ever thought to be true about fitness. Also, it is recommend you consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.

Are you ready? Good, here it is:

The following exercises should be performed with little or no rest between and you may need to adjust the number of repetitions or time depending upon your current fitness level.

  • Jumping Jacks 1 minute

  • Bodyweight squat (one-leg squat for advanced) 15-20 reps

  • Push-ups (slower reps for advanced) as many reps as possible

  • Kick butts (jog in place and kick your rear with both heels) 1 minute

  • Hamstring floor bridge (use swiss ball or one leg for advanced) - 15-20 reps

  • Superman (lying on stomach w/ arms out to side, lift legs and chest off floor) 15-20 reps

  • High knees (jog in place lifting knees as high as possible) 1 minute

  • Stationary lunge 15-20 reps

  • Torso rotations/twists 20 reps each direction

  • Side bends/reaches 20 reps each direction

  • Mountain climbers 1 minute (if you can J)

  • Wall sit as long as you can hold it

  • Dips (use chair/bench/stairs) as many reps as possible

There you have it sounds easy, right? That couldnt possibly do anything, right? I personally challenge you try it no, try it right now! Drop what you are doing and give it a shot and see for yourself. If you find it a bit easy, which I doubt, perform it 2-3 times thru without rest.

This workout will deliver more usable fitness results and benefits than any traditional gym or health club workout. Now, you can of course implement this type of workout in the gym and make it even better, but the beauty of this is you can do it anywhere!

Also, this is just one example and as you can imagine, there thousands of other exercises you can add or replace I actually recommend switching the exercises every 2-4 weeks or even better is to put together 3 or 4 different workouts and then rotate them.

If you are not familiar with one of the exercises just replace it with one you know that works the same part of the body. You can also learn all of these exercises along with dozens of others in my soon to be released video which will consists of several workouts like this that you can do anywhere to build and maintain awesome levels of fitness, even workouts with dumbbells, swiss balls, medicine balls, and more watch for it in coming months.

Natural Weight Loss Tips

We live in a world where fat-loss gimmicks and so-called diet pills promise to help you lose those unwanted pounds with little effort. The advertising of these miracle drugs and gimmicks only feed more into the hype. In reality, the majority of these products will not work without a commitment to a very strict diet and exhausting exercise program.

How can you lose weight naturally and effectively?

Here are some ideas for effective weight loss - the natural way.

*DESIRE- The more you put your mind to something, the better your chances are of achieving that goal.

*KNOWLEDGE-Learn the correct information about proper nutrition and exercise routine. Our bodies all have a different biological chemistry. What works for one will not necessarily work for another.

*SACRIFICES-This one is really hard! But, the most emotionally satisfying. If you can give up something you REALLY love, say that candy bar or soda, that will be one of the best feelings in your weight loss venture.

*CONSISTENCY-It is important to maintain a consistent routine. This is crucial for your success.

*FEEDBACK-At some point, your body will plateau. Which means you will come to a point where you stop losing weight before your goal. When this happens, it is important to analyze your nutrition and exercise routine and make adjustments. BE CAREFUL. This point in your weight loss venture is very aggravating, and pushes many people toward purchasing non-effective weight loss drugs.

*FAILURE-UNDERSTAND THERE IS NO SUCH THING! You WILL have slip ups and you WILL have plateaus, but this is NOT failure. Think of this is a learning experience on your journey to your weight loss goal of what you should NOT do again!!

*NEVER GIVE UP-You CAN do this. Have faith in your abilities. Do not waste your money on those magical diet pills. When you reach that goal, you will have the self-esteem to conquer anything!

Honda Perks Up Navigation System with Earthquake, Weather Features

Honda has perked up its car navigation system, which provides the fastest route to a destination that avoids traffic jams with the addition of information about earthquakes and warnings of rainfall ahead on roads.

This special Honda service will be offered starting with the remodeled Fit subcompact which will be going on sale in Japan later this year. Unfortunately, there are no plans yet to offer the said service to Hondas overseas market according to executive Manabu Nishimae.

In an interview he told reporters, "We believe information services are an important part of a car's quality."

The service is free but drivers have to pay mobile phone bills for relaying data. For frequent users they may avail of data transmission cards for a set with a monthly fee of about $8. In Japan alone about 530,000 drivers use the current navigation service in Japan or about 40 percent of Honda owners.

How does the additional navigational feature works? Up-to-date, email warnings will be sent to a pre-assigned address when car with the system happens to be in the area of a strong earthquake. This special feature is very handy in quake-prone nations. In case heavy rain is forecasted on a planned route, icons of exclamation marks pop up on the monitor.

Honda, Japan's number 2 automaker has also upgraded its map system with updates that only takes a few minutes to download since it is vital for disks with map data to be updated.

Tokyo-based Honda has also found a way to compress data so that portions of a map, such as new roads get relayed gradually. Honda added that with the new navigational system driving time is cut by 20 percent.

Honda is not the only automaker that offer navigation services as a matter of fact all of the worlds major automakers offer this car service but of course with additional twist of their own such as giving directions to restaurants, automatically call ambulances in accidents by connecting to human operators and many more.

Honda's navigation system has a unique feature wherein it collects information from individual Honda cars on the road, its more like Honda cars are talking to each other. In the new earthquake notification service, the system will be able to show which roads have been shut down. This kind of information is so accurate that it could even tell drivers exactly which lane of the freeway is congested, that is according to General Manager Takeshi Imai. He also said, "Honda's telematics is already moving toward the next stage."

Visit your online sources if you have some queries regarding your Honda fuel filter part needs.

New Year's Resolutions - How to Make Them So You Keep Them

First, lets demystify them. A New Years Resolution is nothing more than a commitment made at the end of the year. The only difference is that instead of making it to someone else youre making it to yourself.

If youve had a hard time keeping Resolutions in the past take a long, hard look at how you keep personal commitments to yourself throughout the rest of the year. When only you and your bathroom mirror know about it do you keep your promises in a responsible fashion or do you find yourself re-negotiating, back-pedaling and making excuses?

Many New Years Resolutions are born of disgust or exasperation after a year of failed attempts and procrastination. We make them in a punitive mindset of self-judgment. If youve been falling on and off of diets all year it may make sense to you to make a stern year-end commitment to empty your refrigerator and set the alarm for 5 AM to hit the gym.

But consider this. You just loaned $20.00 to your brother-in-law who made a commitment to pay you back on Monday. Instead he spent the whole week dodging you. How would you feel about loaning him an additional $100? If he hasnt shown any ability to keep the smaller commitment would you throw good money after bad? Perhaps youd like him to demonstrate his responsibility before trusting him further. So the first tip to making New Years Resolutions you can keep is:

1. Dont bite off more than you can chew. Set yourself up to win and commit, initially, to the minimum possible. This flies in the face of conventional wisdom that New Years Resolutions should be BIG life changes. But is this realistic? Lets look at the weight loss scenario as its a big one for many people. You make a resolution to trudge an hour each day on a treadmill and drop all fats and sugars from your diet when you havent jogged more than a half hour a week until now. Exactly who are you trying to kid? Better to commit to 4 hours of exercise a week and salad lunches three times a week to ease yourself into your new lifestyle. You can always up the ante later. Choose a level of commitment that will stretch you but not overwhelm you.

2. Chunk it down. Chunking is when you take a large, difficult to manage project and break it down into more easily handled tasks. Dont make one Resolution for the whole year. Make a resolution for the month of January. On February make a second one. Move incrementally. On February 1st you can add in weight training and switch to only whole grain carbs.

3. Tap into your support system. Let everybody know what youre trying to do and ask for their help. Tell your spouse youve made a commitment to spend 5 hours a week learning new software skills and that youll be doing this each evening from 8 PM to 9 PM. Ask him to hold you accountable and listen to him when he does. Tell your usual crowd youre trying to quit smoking, or cut down on the beer or lose carbs. Ask for their help and give them permission to bust you if they find you in the stockroom with a boxful of Krispy Kremes or a pack of Marlboro.

4. Write it down. Studies of small business people show that those who wrote their goals down were 20% more likely to actually achieve them. After youve written down your Resolution put it everywhere. Write it on each day of your daily planner. Post it on your bathroom mirror. Put it in your sock drawer and in your wallet next to your money. This will help you avoid going unconscious. If youve committed to cutting way down on buying CDs it can be chastening to be reminded of this when youre reaching for the plastic in Tower Records.

5. Celebrate yourself when you reach your milestones. Most of us are hard on ourselves when we dont reach our high standards; were brought up not to sing our own praises. If you set out to achieve something that is difficult and important to you it only makes sense to pause and acknowledge your effort when you succeed.

Anyone else would show you a little more consideration than you show yourself. Your boss would take you out to lunch or give you a raise. Your students would send you thank you notes. Take yourself out to dinner or away on a weekend trip and appreciate your achievement. Tell everybody you succeeded and accept their compliments graciously without downplaying your accomplishment.

Happy New Year!

The End Of Civilisation - A Cause For Worry?

With the recent spate of news report of global warming, I shudder to think of the consequences. Global warming is an inevitable phenomenon that results when sun rays get reflected back by greenhouse gases and end up warming up the earth instead of being dissipated back into outer space.

Water levels have been rising in regions of Earth especially in Antarticia where a large amount of ice residue.

Many believe that the end of the world is coming.

Aeons ago, dinosaurs ended by the dodos due to probable weather or environmental changes. Lake toba was formed when an extinct volcano erupted and ended lives. The remaining people eventually perished due to adaptation failure. Subsequently, the volcano collected water and became a famous tourist attraction.

Interesting how civilisations end and reconstruct, isn't it?

Many suspect that drastic changes will eradicate all mankind in decades or centuries.

Will this ever happen if we start taking care of the environment? Supermarkets have taken steps to implement charges for issuing of carrier bags and major companies have stipulated 'suitable' air conditioner temperatures to be 26 degrees celsius. Everyone from individuals to nations are playing their part in saving this Earth.

Let everyone play a part in conserving Mankind and saving this earth. Environmental changes are ultimately affected by every single one of us.

Will our descendants lead a life in which pollution is rampant and environmental conditions are too hot or too cold? In that case, is it worth letting our future children experience such a tormented life.

This is something interesting to think about. Think not for yourself but for your grandchildren.

High Definition Radio

Just as it has revolutionized the television industry, high definition technology is now changing the way we listen to the radio. High definition radio (HD-radio) makes tuning into your favorite station a whole new experience. Using high definition technology, any station in the country can deliver super, CD-like sound to its audience. High definition technology also makes it possible for listeners to receive information services such as traffic and weather alerts and stock information on their radios.

Pioneered by a company called iBiquity Digital, HD-radio was created in response to satellite radio, which, in the mid-90s, posed a real threat to traditional, or analog, radio. HD-radio mixes digital signals and analog signals, a combination that has made it possible for traditional stations to embark on the inevitable conversion to digital. In 2002, iBiquity made its HD-radio technology available to networks around the nation, and many of them jumped at it.

HD-radio offers a host of enhancements to traditional stations, and iBiquity says the following improvements are possible:

-In terms of sound quality, AM radio will sound like FM radio.

- FM radio will have crystal clear, CD-like sound

- Reception will be free of static, free of white noise, and station loss will no longer be a problem.

- Special services like On-Demand radio will be possible for listeners with HD-Radio. Wireless services will deliver news and traffic updates.

These upgrades are available to networks for about $250,000. Now, about 300 broadcasters are utilizing HD-radio. Thousands more should follow in the next few years. When they do go high def, theyll still be able to broadcast in traditional, analog fashion. The ability to transmit digital signals is a big step for networks, but one that seems inevitable, given the improvements that result. Thanks to HD technology, some stations are now providing different kinds of programming from a single spot on the radio dial.

Fans of traditional radio should embrace HD technology because it delivers better audio quality and more options for listening. HD-radio is also free. Listeners dont have to go through a subscription service to get it, and they wont have to worry about receiving upgrades from their providers. However, listeners will need to purchase special components for HD-radio and find stations that are broadcasting in HD.

Added bonuses with HD broadcasting include the display of weather, news and song info on the screen of the radio. Listeners can also buy music through their HD systems, and theyll have access to special recording options for music. High definition radios are becoming more and more common. Theyre currently priced at about $150. Automobile manufacturers have started to install them in new cars. Plans are even in the works to apply high definition technology to MP3 players and cell phones. What will they think of next?

Questions Investors Should Ask When Buying and Selling Investment Property

If you're a real estate investor, here are several questions to consider when looking at investment properties. Providing sound answers to these questions will greatly increase your profits:

Why do homeowners sell for bargain prices?

There are many factors that can prevent owners from being able to maintain their homes. Such factors as job transfer or loss, divorce, illness, addiction to gambling, drugs, or alcohol, or any of a wide variety of other problems may overwhelm a homeowner. When that happens, their home becomes a low priority and necessary repairs are no longer made. The house may even go into foreclosure.

The death of a homeowner may leave relatives with a house no one wants, which then becomes a burden. These homes may just be "tired" and only in need of cosmetic upgrades in order to compete with other homes on the market.

I recently purchased a "Triple D" house: one that had been involved in a Divorce, was going through Default, and was a Doghouse. But it needed only cosmetic work, so my daughter and I bought it and we're doing it all ourselves, without the help of the men in our lives, and we expect to make nearly $50,000 for one month's work. That's not as much as our husbands generally make on their "doghouses," but we're not going to work nearly as hard.

What should you look for?

The hardest house for a homeowner to sell is a "doghouse," which is also commonly known as a "dump" or "fixer-upper." These run-down houses scare off most buyers, who lack the up-front funds for the down payment, closing costs, new furniture, and things like new carpeting, roof repair, and other repairs that may be required. With that in mind, looking for key words such as "handyman special," "as is," "fixer," and other tell-tale words in real estate ads or listings can make you money.

Tell your realtor to use those types of key words when doing a Multiple Listing Service search in your target area. Once you find a fixer that you can transform from a doghouse to a dollhouse, find out the seller's problem and then offer a solution. Those problems are often money-related, so being ready to close quickly is generally important and can lead to a bargain price from a seller in a financial bind.

How do you close quickly?

You can close more quickly by having your loan in place before you even begin negotiations with the seller. Motivated sellers will respond favorably if you've been pre-approved for your loan, so getting yourself both "pre-qualified" and "pre-approved" by an experienced lender will let sellers know that you can close quickly.

How "bad" is good?

When you first start out in the real estate "fixer" business, look for UGLY houses that are in need of only cosmetic work. Entry level "blow 'n go" fixers are houses that just need cleaning up, paint, and carpeting.

Know your limitations, and use caution when looking at houses that are in need of structural repairs. Such homes can be very profitable (we've made $75,000 for one month's hard work, for instance), but they're not good candidates for most beginning investors. Since my husband knows how to do construction, we're able to take on houses that other investors might not. He's replaced structural beams, sub-flooring, walls, plumbing, and electrical systems, but he learned those skills over the course of many years.

Over time, you may learn how to do much of the structural work yourself, but when you're first starting out, make sure to get estimates from reliable contractors for any structural repairs that might be necessary, and then decide if there will be enough profit left over to make the project worthwhile.

What's the easiest house to sell?

Selling a "dollhouse" in a desirable family neighborhood is easiest. For instance, we once sold a house we called "Orange Tree Cottage" just three hours after it hit MLS! Buyers first look for a particular neighborhood, and then look for a house within that area with the right number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and other amenities. They'll ultimately buy the house that not only meets their basic requirements, but also supports their emotional needs.

What are buyers' emotional needs?

We find that the use of Design Psychology and Marketing Psychology makes a huge difference when we sell our investment properties, selling them more quickly and at higher prices. But both concepts go far beyond simple "curb appeal."

We first entice buyers onto the porch, through the use of potted plants and flowers near the front door, which we've painted a happy color. Once buyers are inside the house, we use colors that target our prospective buyer's income level and match the selling season. Generally, buyers of higher-priced homes prefer complex colors, and using cool colors during hot weather and warm colors in cold seasons sets the stage for making buyers feel comfortable in our houses.

As a real estate investor, asking yourself these questions, choosing your properties carefully, being prepared to act quickly, and using Design Psychology and Marketing Psychology can all work together to greatly improve your bottom line.

(One group a day -Arms, Chest, Shoulders, Legs, Back, Stomach). If your needs are different or your weight prevents you from doing strenuous exercise, then just start by walking for an hour and progressively increase your exercise intensity over the next few weeks.
